UV Curable Coatings for Optical Films

AICA AITRON is a UV hard coating optimized for various optical film applications, ranging from internal electrode sensors of touch panels to plastic substrates, molding processes, and display protective films.

It has strengths not only in implementing basic high hardness and wear resistance but also in customization (adjustment of initiators and leveling agents, functional compounding, etc.) tailored to detailed customer specifications.

01 UV Hard Coating for Touch Panel Electrodes

It is a base hard coating for ITO electrode sensors used inside touch panels. It features a lineup with adjusted refractive index, including an anti-blocking function, making it suitable for index matching applications.

  • Wide application track record from resistive to capacitive methods
  • High-performance grade that achieves both high anti-blocking performance and low haze
  • Possesses a lineup of high refractive and low refractive (thermosetting/UV curable) hard coatings suitable for index matching

02 UV Hard Coating for Plastic Substrates

Equipped with high hardness, high bending, and low shrinkage types suitable for various plastic substrates, and enables various functionalizations such as anti-fingerprint properties.

  • Type with excellent scratch resistance balancing low shrinkage and hard coating
  • Special organic/inorganic hybrid type that realizes extremely high hardness and scratch resistance at the same time (Emphasis on scratch resistance / Emphasis on pencil hardness)
  • Type with excellent repeated bending properties balancing high bending and hard coating
  • Specialized curl suppression type with less curl occurrence even on thin PET films

03 UV Coating for Primers

As a grade optimized for primer applications such as ink and metal deposition, it is also suitable as a primer for ITO alternative materials. (Single hard coating performance is not high.)

  • Exhibits excellent adhesion as a primer for various inks and metal depositions
  • Can add anti-blocking properties to basic primers
  • Responds to metal oxides and UV molding surfaces that are difficult to respond to with general primers
  • Possesses a specialized grade for adhesion to special materials replacing ITO, such as copper and silver

04 UV Hard Coating for After-Parts (Protective Films)

Suitable for protective film applications attached to smartphone or tablet screens, it can add and combine various functions such as anti-fingerprint, fingerprint slippage (slip property), and blue light blocking.

  • Adding anti-fingerprint properties to low-shrinkage hard coatings
  • Provides excellent fingerprint slippage (slip property) with an anti-fingerprint type featuring anti-blocking properties
  • Specialized blue light blocking type

05 UV Hard Coating for Molding Films

It is a hard coating suitable for processes requiring bending or stretching performance, such as insert molding or transfer. Special types with excellent adhesion to metal materials are also available.

  • Specialized for moldability, a type whose hardness slightly increases due to heat during molding
  • 1-component after-cure type suitable for transfer applications
  • Special type with excellent adhesion to difficult-to-adhere substrates and metal materials

UV Resins for Optical Communication

It is a highly reliable UV curable resin specially designed for the coating and bonding of optical communication cables and precision optical components.

  • Based on excellent light transmittance and long-term weather resistance, it stably maintains the performance of ultra-precision optical communication network equipment and optical sensor components.

  • It minimizes optical loss through precise refractive index control and excellent adhesion, and provides unchanging quality even in harsh environments.
